Default Athabasca River in Jasper

Thinking of heading there in the next two weeks for some bullies. Anyone been out there lately? How's the river look?

Enough of this ice fishing already... need to get out and fish some rivers!

Lots of snow, but I know where you are coming from.

In the pre C&R days, I recall kids from Jasper bringing home all kinds of RMW at this time of year.

I would go Clouser minnows, or even some of those tube flies that I am looking at for sabre tooth salmon.

Thanks for the post.

I lived and fished in Jasper for years and we used to fish behind Jackladder near the old dump and we would catch lots there as well as 20 25 Lb Pike

Went out last weekend but the weather conditions went from cold to bitter cold. Last year around this time all the snow was basicially melted and the water was alot warmer. For those of you who are looking to fish the Athabee, you may want to wait until it gets some warm weather (the pools we usually hit were still frozen over )
