Default .22-250 bullet & exit on coyote

I just picked up a .22-250 this past summer and was able to take 2 coyotes at 260 yards last week. I was running Remingtons 50 grain Accutip V for both broadside shots and found that both had decent size exit wounds.

Just wondering if anyone shooting a .22-250 has experience with a commercially loaded round that generally doesnt pass through.

thanks,

cant help you on factory ammo however I used to load 52 gr speer hollow points and they almost never went right through ,which is good if youre a hide hunter.

Default no factories that I know of

I reload/use Hornady super explosives in 55 grain so no exit wound at all unless it is a tiny peice of shrapnel. GEtting hard to find but they are SPSX. have some in 50 grain as well just haven't tried them in my 1-14 twist yet.

I have tried Vmax in 40 and 50 grain - the 40's would pass through on broadside shots while the 50's seemed to rip them wide open no matter the angle. I have also used 55 NBTs on a few and it really depends on the angle, however I have squared a few skunks at under 50 yards with the 55 NBT and from my (albeit not close) examination they did not appear to be pass throughs.

I have some 36 grain Varmint Grenades that I have yet to shoot anything with, but I figured on close shots (<200 yards) where I could be 100% with placement, they should work fine; but then again I have not had the chance to use them and inevitably, if I am heading out for yotes I usually sight in for the 55 NBTs as they are superb at 300 plus. And in the country I hunt, 300 yards is more the rule then the exception.

ETA, sorry, I just noticed you said "commercially loaded". I would maybe try Winchester white box 40 or 45 grain hollow point. They are screaming fast, but I have heard they are not too bad on hides. Second hand info, so take it for what it is worth.

I use 55 grain Sierra Game Kings and do not have any exit wounds. They are fairly in-expensive are great on furs.
