I use a lens on my hunting site and love it, but don't go more than 2X or it causes a lot of grief trying to get on a target quick. Just my opinion though.

I was wondering that at one time but I was advised against using any lens. The reason being on a foggy/damp mornings the lens may tend to fog up. That settled it for me.

There can be glare from sunshine as well on a lens that makes it hard to see through. Add some dust and it is near impossible to see out of. I would never recommend a lens for hunting.
