Default Are any portable vacuum sealers worth it?

I'm looking for a vacuum sealer that I can bring to the lake and vacuum seal my catch before driving home to keep it fresh. Did some googling and found interesting answers. Do you guys have any experience with potable ones? stay away from any? Any ones that you'd 100% recommend?
Thanks

I do find the electric vacuun sealers to work the best, i run a 900 watt power inverter from 12volts to run my sealer when im out in the boat

I have the older model of this one and have been happy with it. It's pretty small and easy to pack around.

You can also buy the bags at Costco for a great price (or at least you used to be able to....)

The only criticism I had is that it would heat up if I tried to "mass seal" a lot of items. It's good for about 4 seals in a row, then you need to let it rest. I recall FoodSaver making a "game rated" version that could do a lot in a row, which may be what you need for the trip you are describing. I bet Bass Pro carries something like that.

I have the heavy duty commercial grade sealer from cabelas and very happy with it.

Did a whole elk and didn't have it overheat.

About 10 years ago a friend gave me his old Food Saver when he upgraded.
I used it for boned deer and small game birds and it has never let us down.
My wife gets the plastic bags from Canadian Tire but I do not know what they cost.

Bought something called an Omcan online about 6 years ago, amazing machine and only a bit more expensive than a Foodsaver (but infinitely better).

The sealing element is designed for 10,000 cycles (estimated duty cycle online), most parts are replaceable though I doubt I'll live long enough to do so.

Ordered a box of bags from a local shop, think I paid like $100 for 2000 bags, real heavy material. Keep a Foodsaver roll for weird shaped stuff, rarely use it though.

Spend a few extra bucks, you won't regret it.
