Wow, now that's what I call art from a hunk of old junk metal, could you please inform the mayor to replace the hunk of junk at the so called Bow fort towers or what ever that piece is with one of these structures, this guy knows art. And I'm sure as beautiful as these are, it sure as hell doesn't cost half a million bucks.

I've always admired people with that kind of artistic ability. To be able to see something in their mind and create it.
I've thought about seeing what I could weld up with all the scrap metal I have but don't have the talent to actually do it.
That's some incredible work.

Looks awesome. Would be great to replace some of that crap that Nenshi and Co. have foisted on the public.

Excellent share. Love the moose.
Sculpture is an artform that will last for centuries. A good friend does bronze sculptures and I've watched the process from start to finish. Welding would be more challenging to keep a good perspective of the subject. The welding would be fun to try.
We live amongst some very talented people.
My friend Danek's latest sculpture in bronze. General Brock.

I've seen welded art before, but never as good as what this John Lopez does!

Wow! Mr. Lopez is a very skilled artist! That statue turned out great, Red Bullets. I recall you posting pictures of it under construction. Although I thought that the General was holding a book...

The problem is everybody and their dog is now doing welded art and because of its unique beauty and the fact it takes at least some semblance of artistic talent to build it, and people appreciate it and genuinely like it, therefore it will never be considered by government when they spend money on art. When the government spends big dollars on art it has to be tasteless, useless, visually annoying and created by the most talentless individual they can find. It must also be of an extreme low value for the dollars spent. The goal is to spend as much as they possibly can for a horrible valueless piece that must offend the taxpayer.

Too bad I couldn't afford it
