Finally got an Elk!
Hey guys,
I finally closed my tag on a great elk. Many thanks to all the guys who gave their support and advice when I came looking.
Last night I went out after work and the elk were finally on the land I had permission on. After a lengthy spot and stalk I was able to place a 180gr bullet from my 30.-06 in to this 5x5's heart and lungs at approx. 300m. Shot at 6:30pm and hanging by 10:00pm. Yeaaaah!!
Once again thanks a ton to all involved in helping me harvest this great animal. This is my first elk and I am so proud.
(I had a better story written up but the website/my computer went wacky and erased it all. So this will have to do for now. Enjoy!)

Congratulations, Scott! Nice first elk! Be sure to save the ivories as they along with the meat, photos and the story of this hunt will be something you'll savour a long time.
