Default 22-250

Hi guys , i have purchaced a new 22-250 and have been to the shooters edge range but can only get 50 yards max, so i have sighted it in 2 inches high so i could shoot up to 200 yards for coyotes ! any comments on where it would hit at 200 yards , the ammo is 55 grain. just wondering if that will get me out to 200 yards. thanks if any body has the knowledge of this.

Where ever you plan on shooting Yotes at 200 yards, I would put a target up at that distance and shoot it first. No guessing that way. And more range time with a new rifle is always good.

Though I agree with confirming zero at 200 if you only have 50 then I would say 2inches high will get you really close at 2 maybe just a tiny bit high but within a coyote vitals for sure.

My 55 grainers are 1.5 inches high at 100 and that puts them bang on at 250. I always aim a little high at 300 but still on fur for sure (2/3rd of the way up his body).

Would ballistic charts give you that information if you set the zero at 50 yards and had a good idea of FPS?

You need to be dead on at 50, not +2", if you want to be dead on at 200 yds.

You will be 1" high at 100.

You needed to give us more info such as muzzle v., sight height above the bore to give you a precise answer. Dead on at 50 will kill the coyote at 200 with most factory loads. Trust me but verify.
