It has a straighter taper than the .308 case and you can fireform 22-250 cases in a Creedmoor chamber.

It is also shorter than the 308, very comparable to the 300 savage which is the parent case of the 22-250. Could be they went that way.

it doesnt matter what they used for a parent case.you can make that brass out of anything 308 case length with that size of rim..it might be easier to use the 22-250 cases due to a one step neck up and fireform process but i would build them out of 308 lapua brass and turn the necks to match the chamber.or better yet buy the hornady brass in creedmore.
