Default Nuclear Fusion Breakthrough?

Able to contain a Nuclear fusion cycle? If true it's pretty exciting.
Plants now use Fission which has all the waste and nasties associated. Fusion would have no byproducts, just the problem of controlling the extreme heat involved, think Hydrogen Bomb.
Ability to produce more power than it takes to produce? Maybe I might start unloading my oil stocks…..

Will be a major leap for "People-kind" if it comes true!

Hey TimeOff, I'm assuming you're talkin about Helium isotopes like dueterium and tritium isotopes that can be fused, and not filthy uranium and plutonium garbage.

If so, I'm in full agreement with you and 'Fusion Power' should be implemented.

Too many people don't understand that it would be perfectly safe.
If some system fails in a uranium nuclear reactor, it could lead to a meltdown and maybe an explosion. (Chernobyl, anyone....?)

If some system fails in a 'fusion reactor', then the reaction will stop and there'd be no danger - just a pain in the @$$.
It takes quite a few backup systems jut to keep a fusion reaction going, unlike a possible runaway chain reaction with uranium/plutonium.

Don't take my word for it. Google it.

^ ain’t nobody fusing heavy metals. Stars can’t even fuse iron. All other heavier elements are created in the supernova.

If we ever manage sustainable fusion, it will be the next great leap in human advancement imo. Would love to be alive for it, but I don’t think it’s likely in my lifetime.
