Default IMPORTANT!!! Does anyone know how to get in touch with..bhguy?

.

If anyone knows how to get in touch with the guy check the therad he started at

http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=211114

...call him and get him headed to a hospital.

Make sure its a real hospital with an 24 hour emerg if he is living rural.

Tell him to take an (1) aspirin (ASA) and tell him to either get a lift or call an ambulance.

I hope to Christ it is just heart burn but I'd never forgive myself for not doing my best to reach out to the guy if it isn't.

No mods on line either. They'd have contact info wouldn't they?

Did you guys know that you had to go to the hospital when you had yours?

The reason that I ask is I know two fellas that had heart attacks that resulted in stents and both said, "I have to go to the hospital, NOW!"

I knew something was wrong and it was something different from my usual ailments so I thought I should go ASAP, better safe than sorry and was very lucky I went in.....

I've also heard that there are mini attacks over a period of time leading up to a large attack that many people chose to ignore. Any truth to that in your case or was it your first attack?

I started having symptoms about 2 weeks before the big one... heat burn.

The day of the big show it got much worse.

I was out in the middle of nowhere with no cell reception and only my GPS and Gods grace to save me when I started to get short of breath, a dull ache in my elbows and some jaw pain.

I tried to convince myself it was just bad gas.

Eventually I had to sit back and say to myself...literally...
Dude...you are 48 years old... packing about 40 pounds more than you should...you've smoke a deck a day for over 30 years you have arm pain and jaw pain and you feel weak.

You idiot... if anyone else came up to you and described the same thing... you'd tell them they were having a heart attack so what are the odds?

I took an aspirin from my arthritis supply...picked up the GPS... searched for a hospital thanked God for small blessings and everything so far...asked Him to take care of my family and drove like hell.
It wasn't easy...my arms were like lead.
By the time I made it in the clinic in Consort I knew that I couldn't have made it much further... I was barely able to stand.

If I had another one... I'd know right away.
I still have the odd PVC...mostly when I get super steamed up and the feeling is very distinctive.

Likely your pals are either smarter than most of us or it was the voice of experience.

Oh... I think we provided contact info when we joined...can't recall for sure.
problem is at this hour...who would be able to access it?

None of em are online as near as I can tell....I tried sending him a PM though.

No bites from the other fellas.

I think we are most thoroughly pooched...mortals fail and its up to God.

Hopefully he is fine and everyone will be calling me a mother hen by this time tomarrow....or he has seen it and already gone in.

I'm going to go to ground now... I'll check again in the AM.
Maay be try to get the mods involved at that point as well....assuming that he hasn't shared contact info with at least one active member.

It should definitely be taken as a warning and when he opens AO tomorrow he'll have a couple of emails that pop up. If things worsen I figure that he'll know to go in tonight. He seemed pretty coherent with his posts so perhaps this was a prelude to something bigger, a warning perhaps. Regardless, I hope that he's alright.

Yeah.. he seems pretty with it but there is no end to a mans ability to delude himself about stuff like this sometimes either.
Especially if he is fairly young and otherwise healthy...like I was...or thought I was.

Well... last post tonight...here's hoping that I am the laughing stock of the forum tomarrow.
Don't worry though... I will soon deflect blame and confuse the issue to make sure you guys get some love as well....lol

Bump.

I'm glad you fellows paid more attention to those symptoms bhguy described, I just casually skimmed them thinking it was likely just nicotine/chaw withdrawal stuff that I'd have no familiarity with.

Edit: we have a green light on bhguy. He's probably got mail.....

He got them...posted an update in his own thread and seems to be on track.

Once again... the AOF proves to be more than just a place for grumpy old men to gather and hack away at each other.

Although, that still remains an important part of it....

Good work on the hospital recommendation BDB and glad BHguy is getting on the right track. Hope all goes well.

Exactly!

Good on you for being on top of this, BDB. Most of us didn't even pick up on it until you sounded the bell.
