The water doesn't fluctuate that much on the river in fair weather. It will raise and lower by a foot or so daily. All depends on how much electricity needs to be produced at the Bighorn and Brazeau dams. More electricity is produced on hot days because of all the air conditioners in use so the water may rise a bit more. Mountain snow pack run off in June and July can cause water levels to rise considerably.
Another thing to consider is if there is a heavy downpour somewhere upstream the river can rise quickly. During a full fledged flood the water can rise a foot every hour or two. And debris like logs start floating by.
For the most part an overnight or three on the river if the weather is settled is a wonderful getaway.
