Default Ram River falls campground

Hey guys/gals im planning on staying at the ram falls camp ground or thinking of camping up by hummingbird creek on the crown land

My question is has anyone camped and fished in the area?

I've heard up on the top elevation of the falls its good for cutties?

Under the falls has bull trout?

The bottom of the falls is definitely good for Cutts. There are a number of nice pools there. Use a stimulator with a hare's ear under it small sizes (16-18) were working for us. No bulls though.

I've also fished quite an area downstream of that and no bulls. Only those beautiful cutts to keep you company....hmmm....time for a trip

Will the Ram be a zoo this Saturday/Sunday? Is it generally a busy river on weekends? Being the long weekend I'm thinking about trying some small tribs along the FTR.

Ram is always fairly busy but if you put some miles on you can get away from the people.

Drove down the FTR on Wednesday and once i got past the campground there was numerous Trailers and 5th-wheels followed by trucks loaded with quads heading south from Nordegg. So I imagine this weekend will be a madhouse.
I chose to camp at Strachan instead. It was pretty quiet Wednesday night but by Thursday it was starting to fill up.
Most of the campsites at Shunda creek were already reserved as well.
I'd suggest boondocking but you'd have to be early. You could also try Elk creek.

Same experience. On my way back from the river yesterday it was a steady stream headed to the FTR and everywhere else. The number of ATVs was staggering...gotta love Alberta....
