Default Crimper/swagger

Hi Guys, have all my snare parts finally.
I would like to borrow a crimper to crimp my 3/32 aluminum ferrules.
I'll come pick it up and will only need for a couple of days, or less. It will be in great hands. (motorcycle mechanic and my tools are immaculate). Close to Airdrie would be good, but am off Mondays so can travel a bit. If not, where can I get one.
Thanks,
Tullfan

Crimpers are expensive but can be bought at Halfords, Trapper Gord's etc. Some use just a hammer and an anvil.

Most guys mount them to a bench so not so easy to move. I'm with Rob use an anvil and hammer if needed. I used the back of my vice and a framing hammer for a decade or so until one of my kids but me a bench mount.

Smart to get going on those snares now. I usually wait until two days before I need them!

Thanks then. I'll look for a set.
Between packing for our upcoming move, work being stupid busy. I figure I'd better at least get them started before my wife finds something else for me to do.
So many coyotes, not enough time.

I just called around. Lowes in EDM has swagers for 1/16-3/16'' cable for $30.

Not a high quality bench mount though.... I do 3 taps with a 3lb hammer.

I smash them with a hammer and anvil, but many trappers swear that the swage is the only way.

Princess Auto has two different hand crimpers - 8 in handles and 20 inch - very reasonable price
