Default Slave Lake narrows access

So it's supposed to warm up tomorrow and thinking of heading to the narrows for the first time this year.
Just wondering if the snow drifts are too bad for the side by side. Most years the drifts get pretty bad and you need a snow machine. Thanks

I was there last week and people were driving on with their trucks. Lots of bare ice then.

Anyone been here recently? Wondering about snow drifts and driving on with a truck.

I was there last Sunday and Monday. Hard packed drifts and frigid temperatures. We were the only ones fishing there on Monday all day, until the evening when a blue nodwell came out for an evening fish at one of the shacks. Would not recommend trying to drive a vehicle out there, but we did see a few vehicles struggle their way out there on Sunday. A couple trucks had track vehicle support to help ease their access onto the lake.

Good info. Thanks. Any issues getting on the lake with a quad?

She was cold last weekend. Good on you for toughing it out!

I think a quad would be ok. There was one out there on Sunday. We were surprised at how hard the drifts were. There is some overflow near where shacks are concentrated on the west end of the narrows. Fishing was good on Sunday, but we moved several hundred yards on Monday and kicked butt on large pike. The walleye were cooperating and we caught more than 20, with the largest being 23 inches.

Good luck To you in your trip.

Chad
