Default Grayling

Hello all,

Eager to catch my first Arctic Grayling this summer and have been doing some exploring on where to go for the fish. Not looking for any secret places and such...just a general direction to head. Was thinking the Freeman River but am open to other options...any suggestions?

Everything you need to know about where to find Grayling around Swan Hills.

http://www.albertafishingguide.com/l...rctic_grayling

Actually this site covers all of Alberta. Just enter the zone and the species in the boxes at the top of the page and it will show you all the rivers and lakes in that area that hold that species of fish.

For more detailed information you could call the local F&W office or maybe someone here could help.

I know where to catch them up here but not down there.

I fished the Freeman upstream of the Hwy 32 bridge a few weeks ago - it was a warm, fetid soup. I saw some tiny Grayling feeding on hatching mayflies but never connected with any in the couple of hours that I fished.

It appears to be a very hard year on the Freeman.

Thanks kayaker. I was thinking about trying the fishing there next week. I think I'll stick a bit closer to the mountains for cooler water temps.
