We made the trip in, we went in over the pass trail and came out the long trail. The trail up over the pass is long and straight up, it took us 6 hours to get to the top, we ended up staying on top of the mountain Friday night. It took us about another 3 hours to get down to the lake the next morning. The trail is as described it is a brutal never ending climb up and descent into the lake. The scenery is every bit as amazing as the climb. The lake was awesome and the fish were fantastic we caught almost 50 with just 1 rod as we broke the other on the way in. They really like black and yellow and red and white, our 11 year old son who made the trek with us did most of the catching and i was the hook remover.
The trail back out we came down the trail to the Cline and out the Pinto lake Recreation trail. It was a great trail for the most part, there were a few places where the creek had washed out the trail pretty well but with a little climb around it was only a minor delay. It took us roughly 9 hours to get in over the pass and about 6 hours to hike out the other trail. I have included a few pictures of the trip ...
