Default Fires and your Trapline

Hey guys,

Here is a link to fires burning in Canada via Google Earth. You can see if anything is burning near your trapline. Got this from the Canadian Trappers Forum. http://activefiremaps.fs.fed.us/goog...&extent=canada

Thanks for the link, gives you peace of mind to know where the fires burn. Does any one have fire insurance on their cabin and equipment?

Hi Rob, I haven't as yet checked the link but do you know how often it is updated.??
And Jim, I doubt very much you can get any kind of insurance on anything that is not permanently occupied. Just as if you leave your house for any length of time, with nobody checking it---ins. void.. There is a compensation package available thru the ATA....for what is is worth---and that is not being derogatory for those with thin skin, just a fact that has been.

Just by reading what they have posted on the page it is updated constantly and I would guess to be very accurate.

If you click on the dots that represent a fire, it tells you the day it was detected. From what I can tell, it is very accurate and up-to-date.
