Well, since I started it here....baby Robyn was in surgery the better part of yesterday, and she made it through the critical night and is improving. So far she has beaten the odds, and we are cautiously optimistic, and grateful for the fine surgeons and nurses who are helping her make it through this. It was pretty iffy there for a while (and still is, but better), as she needed surgery right away, but was too sick to get through it.....Just figured I'd let you all know.
And yes, a great win for the Flames last night, Bennett getting four points was excellent, Gio with a pair, and won the season series quite handily 3-1. Sorry you didn't get your points Bessiedog, those darn backup goalies are just the bane of your existence, no?

That was a good solid 60 minute effort, and a well deserved win. That's 4 wins against Blues in their last 5 meetings...nice stat!

Also nice to see our D putting up 3 goals in last two games. It's been a bit lacking under the new coach....Hartley had them playing a more aggressive style, jumping up, and it worked. Wish they were still playing that way. Coaching. Still not sold on the new guy.

Well the Flames look like they are on Christmas break already, before the puck dropped. Maybe they can pull it out, lots of time left, but not expecting much.
On the really bright note, my grand niece Robyn got her breathing tube removed today, she has put on a little weight, and seems to be doing great! Best news today! looks like she is going to beat the odds!

Dang. Was a great game, played tough D, great energy and offence (especially from Benett line), Rittich made some great saves. Winning races to pucks, and battles on the boards, hitting everything that moved.... That tying goal late in 3rd was a bummer, but who is going to stop a screened, deflected point shot from Burns? OT was one of the most exciting this year...and getting beat in SO just sucks. That leaves the Flames with a 10-0-1 record this year when leading after 2. They really needed 2 points out of the game though. Ducks will be a tough one tonight, but if they play that way again we know they can win in Anaheim now...

These guys need to get going...
Scoring is way down form our top guys.
Kessler got thumped all night long.. That made me smile.
I watched Tkachuck play for Team USA yesterday... How do we get him and his brother on the same team. My god they are amazing.

You make that sound like a major accomplishment. Beginning of the season it was all about winning the Cup, now you're just happy to squeak out 3 more points to catch the flames....

That game should have never been in question, or gone to OT...but thank goodness for a win finally and two points. Sucks to give the Hawks a point though when the race is so tight. Oh well, 5 points up on Oilers, Happy New Year!
