Default Hunting Dogs and Blue Green Algae

Hi
I was wondering if anyone is taking any precautions with their hunting dogs and the Blue Green Algae in the water of some of lake?

Never really thought about it in the past, but past a couple of signs on a few reservoirs this weekend and it made me think...

Just curious what other guys are going.

I try to keep my lab out of the cesspool water. She gets in it a bit but I at least control the contact somewhat. I give her water I brought out. She’s been fine but I do worry at times.

Blue green has killed dogs, cattle and horses, not to be trifled with.

Haven't had to worry about it a lot this year, few or no duck ponds, 95% are dry, ones that have water have no birds for the most part. I went to one reservoir that didn't have issues with it a few times, other than that, went to the river.

Yes I'm in the same boat.

I'm not sure what is going on, but I'm in the Medicine Hat area, and not a lot of birds.
I was spotting for geese at Murray Lake last week. Saw at the most a couple hundred leaving the entire lake to feed. Zero ducks.... unless they were flying past sunset since it was a full moon.

It looks like just locals still. No snows or whitefronts. Just Canadas. I'm thinking with the nice weather they haven't moved south yet.

When I was a kid I watched my dog drinking out of the slough.
She was dead within a few hours.
