Default Thomson Center Encore

Does anyone have any experience with these rifles. Different barrels around 300.00 each. Are they accurate. Longetivety. ?????

I have one i a 7mm-08. Shoots a little under 1 inch groups. Only complaint I have on them is the trigger-heavy pull and lots of creep. However there are remedies for that too-I've just never gotten around to it yet.

I have the BP prohunter and it is everything that they say it is. but it took me 2years to get a .308 barrel from down east. Whats the deal why is Thompson making it so hard to buy barrels. The ones I see used are alot more than 300 dollars?

When I bought the rifle in Drayton Valley I ordered a .243 Heavy fluted 28" barrel and they expect it in a week and they said $350.00 for the barrel.

I don't own one, but I had the oportunity to shoot duceman's unit in 7-08 with the thumbhole stock. I really liked it as it fit me real well and I understand it's a good shooter.

I have one with two barrels, the 7mm-08 and the 338 Federal. The 7mm-08 shoots 1 MOA the 338 Federal I have yet to find a great load. The 28" barrel does a lot for you. The 7mm-08 becomes the 280, 308 becomes the 30-06, 338 Federal the 338-06, etc, etc. All handloads where chrono'd and compare a 24" barrel with a 28" barrel. Kick is tame with the sims pad.

Default best place to get encore components

i have a encore pro hunter in 25/06 i use berger 115 vld's

if you want to fine tune your encore go to this web site they will ship most items to canada.

http://www.bellmtcs.com/

i took my PH from a 5 lbs trigger pull to 1.5 lbs for bench shooting and 2.5 lbs for hunting. with the same load it braught the group from 1.5 inches to 3/4 of an MOA.

i have done this only with changing the spring kits and an over size hinge pin. i can change out the trigger spring in less than 10 minutes now.

my next step is to work on the angles and rought sufaces on the sear engagement etc..

i highly recommend his products dont play with it if your not comfortable, bring your gun and the new parts to a gunsmith.

good gun that can be made great
