Default Outboard engine oil change

Kind a dilemma got my boat out of storage which is a couple hundred km away.once at the lake I put the water wings on and warmed the 150 Honda up and dumped the oil into a bucket.I went to remove the oil filter and found out they gave me the wrong oil filter.since I had all the containers opened I filled the oil to the specifications.I did not restart engine with the new oil.Question is can I still change the filter or do I need to dump the oil. Thanks in advance for your input

If you have'nt started the engine since changing the oil, it hasn't drawn any oil to the filter yet. You should be able to change the filter without losing any. If you do lose a bit of oil ,have a spare quart on hand.. just in case. You will likely have to add a bit after the new filter fills up anyway.
