Default Truck got broken into last night

So left the hotel this AM.... got to the truck.

Oops... left it unlocked. And low and behold. It got rifled through.

But funny thing is, they didn’t take anything. Not my $15 sun glasses, my week old bannock that I had in the back. My tackle box ( they opened it but didn’t dump it), one of my hunting knives, my Mickey of Crown, my 5$ in loonies in my ash tray..... my baseball cap, various shotgun shell, 308 rounds....socks, tire iron, etc)

So what the hell were they looking for?

Or is my stuff that crappy that thieves won’t touch it....

Wierd man.

That sucks. I know the feeling.

Did you have a garage door opener in there?

Default The crown jewel.

Portable ash try.
It’s a very high commodity these days.

No portable ash tray....

Any documents left in your vehicle?

Usually they would at least take the loonies. Maybe they were looking for the guns that went with those cartridges?

Why didn’t they take the loonies?

Re: fentanyl danger..... as in the powdered could be there and hurt me?

I drove 6 hours and rummaged around in it, so I’m guessing no.

They likely saw the crown royal and figured there was no point in robbing a hobo.

Mine was hit in Cranston on sunday night. We camped 2 nights and I took the trailer back to the storage compound. Sent my 13 year old out to truck to get some items when I returned. I or he , must not have locked it.
Missing maybe 7-10 bucks in change. Took the tray out of the center consul across the street where the lamp is to look at the items and my neighbor found in the morning and texted me . Left glasses, watch, and misc. items.

Left mine unlocked a couple years ago, they helped themselves. They traded me a cigarette butt for my empty pack of smokes, two dollars in change and a tin of breath mints.

At $1 a pop at a pawn shop, there were enough CDs in there to buy an 8-ball of crack but I guess they weren't interested in Garth Brooks and Merle Haggard.

Judging by this thread maybe you are better off to throw a club on your truck and leave it unlocked. Better than paying for a broken window.

Thieving rings might have only taken your address out of the truck too. They know you aren't home so they could enroute to your house.

Years ago I had an expensive stereo stolen from my car.
Thieves used a slim jim to get in, so no damage to the car and instead of ripping the unit out of the dash they used tools to properly remove it...not a scratch on the dash.
To top it off...they locked the doors when they were finished. I appreciated that

I have a friend in Cranston that posted some security video to FB about someone checking door handles in their driveway at 4:44 am yesterday (Monday) morning. They're on Cranarch Grove, that camera is mounted on the second floor around window height so it does not catch faces with hoodies on.

That or they saw some Oiler's paraphernalia and felt bad about inflicting any more pain on a tortured soul.

It probably started out as a first class burglary then came unraveled when it mattered.

OR, the perps decided they'd rather be golfing.
