Default Shimano Stratic Ci4+ Question

Behind the line holder on the spool, is a white piece of plastic. Should that be removed ?

Have you got a pic?

There is a thin little piece of soft white plastic, about the size of a nickel, that's usually on the handle where it joins the reel, that's just to keep it from scratching anything during shipping.

I'm not sure that's what you're talking about though based on your description.

I just looked at my spool. I also have a thin white piece of plastic behind the line holder. I’m curious now. Does it need to be removed?
