Default Rifle stock coatings.....any ideas?

I'm looking for some" do it yourself " ideas for rifle stock coatings. Synthetic and wood. Maybe something with texture spray on. Any advice of what has worked for others is appreciated.
Thanks

I did a Google search and came up with a polyurethane. Is this what was used?
Thanks

I have done a few Tikka synthetic stocks using Krylon Fusion as a base color and the Krylon webbing spray on top of that, followed by the Krylon Matte clear coat. It looks and feels really good and has been supprisingly durable considering how much rough field time my 270 has had. just give the stock a light scuff with fine sandpaper and clean with alcohol and paint. No primer needed. That Krylon fusion really sticks well to plastic. Tikka plastic anyways.

For wood I like a oil finish but with my latest build I am going to try Endura. I am have shot a few rifles coated in it and a clear coat really makes the wood look good.

The first stock I refinished (old Remington 11-48) I used a satin, spray varathane like this one; https://www.homedepot.ca/en/home/p.d...000423123.html with a very light sanding between coats. Did that gun almost 20 years ago, looks as good as the day I finished it.

The last 2 stocks I've done (both 870 stock sets) I used this product;

http://mohawk-finishing.com/catalog_...asp?ictNbr=215

I work for a company that does commercial millwork, has a full finishing dept., etc...so I have access to basically anything. However, in speaking to a rep for one of the companies that sells US stuff, I told him what I was doing...he asked if I'd ever tried the "Pour-N-Wipe". This rep had over 25 years of finishing experience, and yet used this for his own personal projects. He gave me a part can, I did a 1951 Wingmaster stock set..and the results were superb. I subsequently did a stock set for a friend using it...now I'm stripping an old stock set for one of my other shotguns...and plan on using it for that too.

Honestly, for some of my rifles my favorite is AERVO spray paint.
