Default 30-30 question???

Hello all,

I am looking for a 30-30 bush rifle. I am looking to spend about $300 range.

What make\model should i get? Where would be best to find one?

I am in calgary area.

If you are buying new it's pretty much Marlin, since Winchester closed their factory, a bit over a year ago.
All that aside the model 94 is a good platform for the 30/30 and if you find one at a decent price have at it.
Your price range is a bit low by todays standards, since new rifles will run closer to $450, and used rifles seem to hold their value pretty good.

Thanks for the quick respond.

I guess you are right, am searching and everything is in the 450 range except the Winchester mod 94 is $350, and you mention that you do not recomend the mod 94... Can you please tell me why I shouldnt get it?

Magic99 I think you misread his post. All he said is Winchester is no longer in business. The Winchester 94 is still a good lever action. I got one.

I know you are in Calgary, but about a month ago, P and D had a rack (about 6 or 7) Marlin 336's and Glenfield 30A's......all looked in great shape, lots in the 350 buck range.
