Default 2015 Mulie

Trying to post a pic from my phone. We'll see how this goes. My 2015 mule deer, 54 yard shot, and my wife got it all on film.

Default Wife's 2015 archery mulie

Here is my wife's very first mule deer with a bow. She made a perfect shot at 40 yards, and I was lucky enough to tag along with the camera and get it all on film

Default 2015 mule deer

Well after two years of chasing a few big guys but not connecting I decided the next mature deer will get all my attention. He had the classic white face with a sway back and big pot belly, I love hunting old smart deer! I had this guy at 8 yards at one point but ended up taking him at fifty after a 45 minute stand off. Double lung and 50 yard recovery. Sorry for the bad pic but I was alone and rushed as it was very warm and he was deep in a coulee.

My buck ,he wasn't the biggest one there but offered the best shot. Honestly the most tender best tasting deer I have harvested to date .

Default Traditional Harvest

I have been reluctant to post for fear of being chastised but am following ABB's lead and understand that I will get some flack for hunting with a Treaty Card..........its my 23rd elk with a long bow. Not all have been bulls and not my biggest. 12 yard shot, went 50 yards. Gear used a 63"@ 28" Cari-Bow, cedar arrow with a Journeyman two blade broadhead....

12 yard shot.
Makes me think of a seasoned and skill full hunter.
A very good hunter. The closer you get is the hardest thing to do.

Well done. The added challenge of trad gear makes it that much more of a feat.

Congrats!

No kidding. More effective with a stickbow than most could even dream with a gun.

Youngest son(13) gets another deer(doe) with his bow. I already posted his buck. First year with a bow and makes great shots on both. We were able to watch this doe fall so that was cool. 20yd shot. He was shaking uncontrollably when we saw her coming, but he pulled it together when it counted. Have pictures but trouble uploading, sorry.

Great bull. No one will give you flack for that. It's impressive. It's the treaties who shoot 23 moose or elk in a single year for everyone on the reserve that would take flack!!!! Congrats.
