Has anyone ever done a bulk purchase of powder through Higginson powder from Ontario? Good experience??

With a purchase of 21 lbs, shipping is free, and only a Hazmat fee of $25. This is more than I can use, but thought I would see what the store is like before putting together a bulk buy.

I've been doing a 300lb bulk order for the last 3 years (me and a few other ipsc shooters)
Prices are stellar and service is very good.

Higginsons is a good solid business.
Our group has done many bulk orders and all was handled efficiently.

Only had one time when they short-shipped us even though they'd committed to the full order. It was a 150# or so order iirc, this January, just as all heck broke loose in the North American component market.

Your powder will be bagged in plastic and tightly packed in small cardboard boxes. Each box is clearly identified as to powder type and lot number.

Everybody is out of it. I dont see any anytime soon either. Glad I got the last 8 pounder I could find. Good luck to all. Higginson is great but do not like the bags of powder in a box. That is my only problem.

I'll add to the sentiment that higginsons is a great business to deal with.

I know this will burn up a few people but I am sitting on an unopened 8lb'er of Varget still. I bought it to take over for RL-15 but haven't quite ran out of that yet.

Sure glad I bought the 8lb'er the way things sound though...

Actually it happens every spring when our wholesalers warehouses are empty from a busy winter reloading season... If distributors orderd direct from manufacturers when the cupboard was allmost empty then they are in for a shock but alas our large canadian distributors most all have shipments coming in the spring that were arranged a while ago... Fear not folks... The sky is not falling.... Yet.

3yrs in a row now my local shops have been skinny on powder and primers... No Varget, then no 4895... Next it's H414... RL22 and H1000... Just when folks start cooking up Blue dot loads over musket caps for 7mm rem mag suddenly a truck pulls in with cases of components all priced 5-10% more then last year.... Ahhhh capatilism

I order from Higginson's on a yearly basis , sometimes even more.
Fantastic dealers.

I've ordered from them a couple times. They aren't very chatty but I've always received my orders in a timely fashion and without drama.

I too have done a group buy with others, I wasn't the one that organized it but it went very smooth. I'm still sitting on a lot of powder(for me) from that buy, Varget being one of the powders.
