Shorter action length of WSM makes rifle fit better. LOP probably is the wrong term but was the best desciption I could come up with at the time. I find most LA rifles to be too long for me to shoot comfortably. Easy fix if it has a wood stock. I don't care much for synthetic stocks but I do see some of the advantages of them.
The length of the action has no impact on the length of pull...distance from butt of the stock to trigger. It may make the overall gun slightly shorter but it has no effect on the pull. A 300 WM and a 300WSM will have an identical length of pull in the same gun as the trigger sits to the rear of the action. No question that some makes and models of rifles fit smaller shooters better but the calibre doesn't make any difference.

For the most part I shoot my short action guns alot more than my long action. I am used to the length of throw on a short action, when I shoulder and cycle a long action it feels awkward.
