Default X-Bolt, Tikka, or Savage in a 7mm?

Looking to get a new rifle. Trying to decide between a Browning X-bolt, Tikka Lite or Hunter, or a Savage American Classic. I've shot the X-bolt in a 30-06 and the Savage in a 300 win mag and I'm impressed with both. I know Tikka has good accuracy but have never shot one. I'm wanting to get a 7mm. So the question is which one? I'm very torn. Price isn't an issue, I'm looking for the superior firearm. Comments and opinions?

i have both an x-bolt and tikka one in 7mm and other in 270wsm. i don't have a higher end savage just an axis but have shot the savage fcss in 308win and the x-bolt and tikka's bolt action is far more superior in my opinion. but the savage rifles are probably the best bang for your buck. but if your budget is in the 700-1100 range there 2 dandy guns. good luck

Which 7mm or which make of rifle?

It appears that Remington Magnum fans seem to think its the only 7 out there and talk as if there is only one. (which there isn't)

As for the rifle, which one fits you best!

You can't go wrong with the tikka or the xbolt. Both shoot great. IMO I think the tikka has a smoother bolt. I like the way you can open the bolt on the x bolt with the safety on and the x rings are a great scope mount for the x bolt.

If it is a 7-08 I would go with the Tikka......due to it being lightweight. If it is a 7mm rem mag I would go with the x-bolt as it is a bit heavier....or what ever fits you best.

Good advice. Also bear in mind that the Browning has a 26" barrel, while the Tikka is 24" & change, so you maght get a few extra FPS out of the Browning if you are shooting the 7mm Rem Mag.

Two great choices, so the one that fits better should get the nod.

I'm gonna be the black sheep here and say savage. Better QQ on barrels and outta the box accuracy. Ask alot of gun smiths. One of the best factory barrels. Super strong lock up. Can't go wrong with any of those 3 though. I just don't care for browning. The McDonalds of the outdoors!

That is a good point too....based on the barrel length. If you have a magnum in a 24 inch barrel it is a little bit crippling to velocity, if velocity is not your thing....then that probably won't matter to you.

I was stuck between a Tikka stainless laminate or an X-bolt hunter in .270 WSM. Went with the Browning and couldn't be happier with it, super smooth and sub MOA out of the box with Federal power shok. Not really sure what McDonald's of the outdoors means but it's a solid rifle.

Not a fan of the X-bolt length, or the weird/ ugly lines of their stocks, they have to be the only rifle I've ever seen where the wooden stocks look worse than the synthetic. Not a fan of the Tika value so I'd take a Savage by default. The savage 114 American with the SS barrel is an excelent value IMO. A buddy got one and it looks good, shoots great, and costs way less than anything comparable from Tika or Browning.

If Tika go with the laminat , I have all 3 and I like my Tika the best shoots the best but the x bolt feels the best just cant shoot it very good in the Felid not sure y! Good luck all are good guns though Tika light in 7 mm will kick hard!

Their stocks are little weird, but super comfortable nonetheless.
