Default Shunda Creek / Elk river advice needed.

The wife and I are heading up to Shunda Creek thursday morning for a little bit of a hunting trip. We wil be setting our camper up on a lot there but hunting farther up the trunk.
Normally I hunt elsewhere in area's I've been able to scout but this is more of a getaway trip.
I was wondering if people have noticed much "late" season elk activity up in the Elk river area (339) or am I best to stay west. Any input would be appreciated.
I will be looking for WT, bear and elk. We generally see a tonne of bears up there so I thought it would be a good area to try to get a rug from.
If I could bag my first elk I would be ecstatic.

Any area recommendations would be great, I'm not looking for your honey holes, just a direction.

Thnks for the heads up, I guess that the bears I've seen are more in the lower K area. I recall seeing them with snow on the ground until early december.... maybe there's too much glue in my office but I 'd thought they'd still be out and about.
