Default whitetail in 152

I was out hunting this last weekend, as well as several times during bow season. Myself and my group have been noticing substantially lower whitetail numbers than in previous years, the balance of Bucks to does seems to be the same, the does that we have been seeing have generally had does with them so that doesn't seem to be the problem. The mule deer numbers seem to be doing well (good numbers poor quality) Just wondering if anyone else has been having the same experiences, as well as some of the potentail reasons/ theories

Perhaps this is why

2010 they gave 526 mule deer doe tags
2010 they gave 490 Wt doe tags
2010 they gave 241 mule buck tags

2009 they gave 532 mule doe tags
2009 they gave 464 Wt doe tags
2009 they gave 195 mule buck tags

That just this season and the last. This has been going on for at least 4 years.

I have been noticing a lot less deer as well. Too many tags is part of the problem but the other issue is coyotes. Everytime I go out hunting I see 6-8 coyotes. I beleive they eat way more white tail fawns than mule deer. But of course no one at the gov't would ever consider this in tag numbers! They assume the only way a deer dies is by a hunter. Also on another thread some people want to shut down snaring in this area. This would be a big mistake on both deer and bird numbers!
Do evryone a favor shoot every coyote us see this year!!

They got paranoid and culled all those zones for the last few years, lots of tags and hunters, ruined some nice deer spots.

Yeah I had noticed that they had increased the number of tags for the area however the property that we hunt is a very large ranch and it seemed to me that the number of hunters is down a bit. Now it for sure is possible that there are fewer hunters just taking more deer although it had seemed to me that last year there were not to many people hunting whitetail, unless of course they just drove in whacked and loaded the deer and then left, in fact last year our group saw very few bucks being taken (and someone is usually there almost every day during the season). Was there any winterkill last year? or are people seeing them in places where they normally don't show up? Just trying to find out from what everyone else is seeing to see if the deer are simply not there, hidden really well, or just spread out throughout the area. As well mule numbers do appear to be ok although the buck quality is terrible, we've seen probably 40+ bucks thoughout opening weekend and bow season and the largest may be pushing 145.
