The water is high so its time to tie some flies. Here is my H and L variant.
This is my go to dry if fish are rising.
Materials:
size 8-16 hook
White x stream hair white
Peacock hurl
Orange rooster cape feather
Step one: wrap 3/5 of your hook with thread. End up having your thread at the bend of the hook.
Step two: use white x stream hair to make a tail. Leaving the remaining hair running forward.
Step three: add a piece of peacock hurl. Run the thread up the shaft.
Step four:wrap x hair up the shaft. Leave about 6mmof the hook bare.
Step five: Top view picture... Make a loop with the remaining x hair. The loop should be about 8 mom long.
Step six: Wrap the hurl up the hook. Leave about 4mm of the x hair open.
Step seven: tie on a hackle feather.
Step eight: wrap the hackle up the shaft to the loop of x hair And then in front of it a few wraps. Tie it off, whip finish and cut the loop.
I've caught more cutts on this than I can count.
