Default My Hoyt Spyder Turbo Has Arrived

I picked up my bow at Dudley's Outdoor Escape in Drayton Valley last night. It was a special order from Hoyt and took awhile but was well worth the wait. Its at 81 pound draw weight with a 29" draw, it is pushing 498 grain arrows at 316 fps. The bow is so smooth, has zero torque, and is silent a pleasure to shoot. I can't wait to get it out to the cabin and shoot it at distance.
Thanks again to the staff at Dudleys.

Yea being in the gym for the better part of my life helps with the draw weight. But it is so smooth doesn't feel much heavier than my old boy at 70lbs. Did you hold the element or the matrix while you were there?

Default Cool

Cool bow! I'd check your numbers again though. Even at 81lbs draw, that speed seems way too high with a 498 gr arrow. Sure you did not mean 398 grain arrow?

I guess we could nick name you Cameron Hanes. lol J/K I think that's the exact same set up and DW that he shoots. All kidding aside, nice bow, it looks sweet. It sure is nice when the gear you've been waiting for finally arrives in the mail (or whatever), especially if it isn't broken and it lives up to your expectations. Enjoy your new toy.

Not sure how you come to that conclusion...The PSE Spyder Turbo..is IBO at a smokin 340 FPS and IBO is 70 lbs with a 350Gr arrow..
A 498 grain arrow shooting only 316 FPS at 81 lbs is non un-reasonable...

Even doing the math of 1 FPS speed loss for every five grains of arrow over IBO 350 grs....
JMHO...

Yea I am sure they are 498gr arrows. With a 81lb draw weight and a 29 inch draw length. IBO for the bow is 340+ at 70lbs. I would never shoot lighter arrows but with a 300-350 grain arrow speed would be stupid fast if the arrow would hold up.

He's a fairly famous bow hunter. I'm pretty sure he shoots the same set up. I stumbled onto his videos on you tube. Glad to hear that you love your bow.

On a side note, are you or Claudio making it up to Lac La Martre this year? I will be up there in July. I will be putting to good use that Shimano reel that you sold me at the sportsman show and of course my fly rod.

Nice I'll check him out.
I don't think Claudio will make it up this year, but we are planning on hitting the coast soon . He is pre-fishing slave lake right now for the tournament this weekend. I'm sure you will have a blast up there again and that reel will get a work out good thing its Shimano Can't wait to hear how your trip goes.
