Default Big fishies from the south part 2

So my boy has taken to flyfishing this year big time
Let the adventures begin!

Learning now NOT to land big ones! Heh...

'Twas a great day with good people!
Little guy lost count of his catch...!

I watched some great fishermen.

What a great experience. I took up flyfishing on my own after growing up on the East coast salmon rivers. It was never a passion of my father to fish but my grandfather loved to.

It's been warm for a few weeks and a few of those fish are well out of the water. Have you also stressed the importance of handling the fish for photos? Keep them wet truly does mean keep them wet, even if for a few moments. If they are being kept on a limit stream understandable. I think we all can learn a little better handling, just trying to be constructive.

I am not against keeping fish. I don't myself but on limit streams that's someone's choice.

Good handling is just something that people scarf at on here when someone mentions it. I don't see why. We should be promoting it.

Love seeing fish photos.

I don't think scarf about handling is the case. Maybe sensitive to it due to past arguments going way to sideways. Just keep in mind the board rules on posts like this:

Which leads me to interpret is that if you are that interested in handling techniques, start a thread about it but maybe a fishing report is not the place. The mods or admins and chime in here if they wish.

We are not always going to agree on the all the best handling techniques anyways. To me, as long as we are close and common sense prevails, I think all is good.

I think the poster's comments on the handling were fair and polite. I don't think his intention wasn't to belittle or chastise. Just my $.02 which is pretty much useless now that pennies don't exist Anyway...these days handling is a hot topic with the warm temps. We should be able to talk about it without getting our backs up. Tight lines, Snap.

Agreed on how the comments were made - all good with me. However, I am not the Op and I don't think BessieDog, who was nice enough to post some reports and pics, was looking for comments on handling techniques. Especially not on "part 2" when comments were already made on his other part 1 report.

The point being, if comments, lightly made or not are done on each and every fish report where something is in question. That will lead to less reports on here. Thus, that is why I posted that rules excerpt. Maybe that was for more extreme situations but it usually doesn't take too much to get there...
