Thumbs up Grayling On High

went for a little hike with the Family this afternoon. very pleased to find no ice and no sign of winter kill when we arrived at our destination. even more pleased to have some of these special little fish eat our stuff. a couple of the children caught their first grayling ever and on fly gear. everyone wants to go back. mission accomplished. another beautiful may afternoon in the mountains. a few pics from the day. enjoy.

Dace

Great way to spend an afternoon with the family! It's always good when the fish are biting as well, it creates more trips in the future.

Hats off to the kids for catching them on a fly rod, those grayling can be ultra picky

Nicely done, my friend!
Happy to see that they survived the winter; they just need to survive a couple more & grow some...

How was the road heading up that way, did you perchance see what the pass was like?

Only a couple more weeks to go before I take that road.

i've spent a lot of time in the muskeg. i know plenty about the fish you speak of. as mentioned i was very happy to see these "babies". stocked at this time last year as 1cm fry, pretty amazing growth in twelve months. i hope they make it a few more years.

you got it. as mentioned, mission accomplished. although everyone has just as much fun hiking in and being in the mountains. the fish are always an added bonus.

the road is as it always is, washboard and steep. some run off in places as the fresh snow was melting.

thanks all.
