Newell Derby Results?

Does anyone have the results from the recent derby at Lake Newell?

Great derby this year...... The winning fish was 25.4 pounds.... Second came in at 24.8 pounds..... and we managed(Bearclaws other half) to take home third with a 24.5 pound pike.

A 3.7 pound whitefish won that category and there were no ling caught this year.

The wife and i went to it,great derby. We won the early bird prize VS250 Marcum fish finder..230.00 great way to start the derby. Saturday noon was not the place to be on the lake with the storm that blew in. Caught one small jack on saturday, sunday the wife caught a 6lb jack. We fished on sunday with a nother couple we met on the north end, they ended the day with a 17 lb that he let go (female full of eggs). We went to Gull derby last year and i would not go back, to much of a gong show

This was the first time on Newell, and yes there is lots of room to fish. Next year will be a bit easyer to catch something when you know were to go. I will get my wife to post some pics...still trying to figure it out.

Sounds like a great time was had by all...

Will have to try to get to one of these derbys next year...
