PO’D neighbour
In your opinion what time in the morning is too early to be firing up the mower/weedwacker?
This morning I started mowing my lawn at 10:45 and was confronted by a disgruntled neighbor on my first pass who told me to “shut that f’ing mower off, some of us are trying to sleep.
After showing him the time he threatens me by saying I’m Gona need new tires and a paint job if I do it again.
Just moved into the house in May. Welcome to the neighborhood I guess lol.

You need a louder mower, or one with a straight pipe. The bimford 2000 comes to mind. Tim the tool man.

Get some goats to eat the grass. Maybe he will enjoy the odor over the noise.

I generally don't start the mower before 9am, but after a threat like that, I would consider mowing at 7am. I would also have cameras watching ,my property, and would be laying charges if he followed through on his threats

My neighbor came out yelling at 10:02 because we were making noise washing the dirt bikes after 10pm. If she had waited 2 minutes we would have been done. In all fairness it was late ish, and I was using a Honda powered pressure washer. In all fairness she is a miserable b**** who is destined to be a spinster.
10:30 am is plenty late to make noise. Some people are just unhappy and love to ensure everyone around them is equally miserable

Don't hesitate to do it again, even earlier. Next time have your phone and the ready and video every threat he makes, it may come in handy.

Might have to bust out the old farm mower next weekend. An old 70’s Briggs 2 stroke. Sounds very similar to a helicopter taking off.

He threatened you, only one response for that, call the cops, might just discourage him from following up.

Do you need and trees trimmed? I'd like to pop by at 9:01 with my Stihl. One person on that, another using a gas pressure washer and I'm betting you need some concrete removed too so I'll bring my Hilti demolition hammer.
Does anyone with a death metal or accordion & bagpipe band need a place to practice? I understand there's a garage available for such purposes!
In all seriousness though, if the guy threatened you bodily harm for something you're entirely in the right doing, file a report with the police just to generate a history on the guy. In future interactions try to have your cell phone discretely recording audio or audio & video if you can perch it in a shirt pocket with the camera poking out the top.

Wife and I filled out a report at the local rcmp this afternoon, when I told them my address they knew exactly who I was talking about. All they would tell me is that he’s well known.

Turn your phone on video and record the conversation, then you will have evidence to show the police whey you called them. also know your bylaws when you can and when you can't

I would have asked him why he was barking at you like a dog. Some people just are clueless. Hopefully the police take the threats seriously. Get cameras up.

Also do a few extra passes to make sure you get every blade of grass especially close to his house.oh don’t forget to get the leaf blower out and blow you lawn and sidewalks.

Check your bylaws.
Start up next Sunday, 5 mins after the magic time.
Have somebody videoing the escapades, especially if your neighbour threatens you or your property.
I’d recommend hiring the whole gambit just once out to a crew of yard care professionals. Edging, tree trimming, weed whacking, and pressure wash the eavestroughs too.
When your neighbour looses it on the whole crew, it’ll be priceless.(especially if the crew resembles like the guys who do my yard in the spring.... they look like a middle eastern rugby team)

I try to keep it quiet on Sundays till I hear someone else mowing. Other than that it's game on. This summer it's been too wet to cut till noon most days but for someone to whine at 10:45 is unreal I woulda laughed in his face. Some of us have 5 hrs of work under our belts by then. Give him some earplugs and a nyquil.

It’s hard for him to admire the new paint job he paid for from a hospital bed
