Default Protesters in Edmonton Issue Demands to City Hall

This is just so unexpected. A great feel good story, homeless folks banding together, with their own kitchen and medical tent to get safe injection supplies, and issuing terms to the city (de-fund police, blah blah).....

https://www.westernstandardonline.co...-changes-made/

I think it's going to end well though. In about 6 months, when Edmonton gets a -40 cold snap. Until then, I suggest the city install a 15 yard dumpster, they are going to need it.

Could we offer them one way non transferable plane tickets to Ottawa?

A great opportunity to practise the use of pepper spray and tasers. Then arrest them all, and fine each one $2500. If they return arrest them again and double the fines.

Or, you could pepper spray, arrest, and fine half of them, and use the money from the fines to fly the other half to Ottawa..?

Who are we kidding, fining these folks is like demanding that rocks bleed. Can't give what they don't have.

Watching the world go to hell, it's become a full time job.

The organizers are likely paid protesters, if you take away the profits, they will go elsewhere.

Why these rabble rousers (to borrow an age old expression)
Especially the out of country ones, are not forced to pay taxes, is beyond belief

They need to move to Victoria. The gov't is putting them up in hotels there.

I may not agree with what these folks are protesting about, nor will they garner any support from me, however, they have the right to protest.

They have the right to protest, as long as they do it legally, and most protests lately, end up violating the law.

Well that's gonna be a good social experiment. Let's see what the native land looks like after 6 months of the keepers of the earth camping out there. I imagine there may be drifts of needles, as they are giving them out.

Personally I think the CF-18 pilots could use some more time dropping smart bombs, get rid of the problem once and for all. No need to allow repeat offenders and issuing fines that will never be paid.

Why waste ordnance ? a couple of sonic booms over the site would do.

It started off as a prayer and refugee (?) camp and all was well, then the Native land sign went up and the population tripled. There also has been an ambulance there the last 3 times I drove by. I also heard there was a stabbing in the camp and paramedics were refused entry until the police escorted them in. That place is definitely a massive violation of the covid social distancing rules. I think its only a matter of time before an outbreak starts there.

Too many buildings in the area for a sonic boom. Besides those that survive would be further milking the health care system.

But the city won't act on those violations, they will just fine people for not wearing masks.

That in itself proves that the city is not as serious about controlling the spread of covid as they would have us believe.

And if it’s Native Land, why are the taxpayers of Edmonton paying to have their garbage picked up?

A great thought but they are already living off the milk of the tax payers tit so the fine would be just a waste of time, pepper spray and tasers though now that's interesting.
