Default Question on kitchen taps

Have what looks to be a moen faucet with the pull out spray hose. Looks like the hose is leaking.

Are these flex hoses universal or specific to manufacturer?

Call Moen, should be under warranty, they are the best for warranty.

What Johnny said, Moen will usually send out the appropriate replacement parts for you. I like their product and support and istalled their faucets throughout my own home when I built.

Does the faucet have a separate spray or is it one where the spout pulls out?

Is it leaking around the base of the spout? I have a moen, and the nut where the spout attaches to the nozzle comes loose every once and awhile. But don't use a wrench on it, as it has plastic threads. Also there is an O-ring inside check that too. However, if it is the hose. They are lifetime warranty, and your local home hardware might stock the parts. Usually whoever sells moen carries spare cartridges, and possibly other parts for the taps. Otherwise contact moen directly.

This is the faucet head, pulls out. Can't use the kitchen sink at the moment so I'll check with home depot or somewhere tomorrow.

The hose itself sprung a leak about 6 inches from the head.

I've tried to find a new hose without any luck at the general big box stores and specialty plumbing stores. Had to go through moen. Take a picture of it before you call, so they send the right part :S. Parts arrived in less than a week.

Moen's site has a feature to help you find out what model you have. I guess that yours was chrome with a deck pate and it kicked out 54 models (2nd link):

Found the hose, it's part number rp44647.

Home depot showing as selling online only - 10 to 16 days shipping.

Ouch! that's a long time to go without a kitchen tap. If it's really old. I would replace it. But then it's a 150+ for a new one depending on what you buy.
