I heard some scratching on tree bark and screeching so i turned and saw a squirrel being chased up a tree by a marten , the squirrel leapt sideways to a different tree and continued up the marten followed and gained so near the top the squirrel ran out on a spindly limb and sort of leapt and dropped onto an aspen below , the marten knew it couldn't do that so sat there swearing in marten language at the top of it's lungs lol . The squirrel got away that time .

Bigrib, last year someone in Drayton caught a similar squirrel chase on vidio by a lynx. The lynx chased the squirrel through the top of three 6 inch poplar trees which would move 6 feet every time he launched, quite impressive!

Beautiful pics of a creature not often seen in the wild. Incredible clarity and definition. Thanks for posting

Beautiful shots!! I'm totally jealous! I've had a lame year on the photography side since we got back from Africa in February.
