Default Ribeye of the sky,and a little pup

We drove over to Sask at about 330pm, T he cranes have moved in, I had a field shoot for the morning so I was just making sure the birds where still around..but the geese and the duck left already.. and in come the ribeye`s,,,the little pup turned 4.5 months today so it had to be a controlled hunt where she was tethered to me until I knew the bird was dead,we walked down the ditch about 500 yards were they were crossing, we sat down and she thought it was totally play time with Dad lying on the ground, we had them 60 yards to either side of us and I knew it was going to be a one shot deal , so here come`s a single, get up and fold it...Autumn has it in her site,,,I see it has expired, so I un buckle here and send her,,she pulled her heart out and got it back to me with some enthusiastic verbal talk.

we moved down about 10 mile`s and they where on the road and flying back and forth from the small lake, we parked the truck behind a big Dog dish and walk 200 yards down, We hid in some real good weed cover, we had two flocks come over us and we took a pair out of each so we got our limit,,,a great day for the little girl she retrieved them all,

it was a real quite ride home,,,

Is that a "dog in a box"? Ready to ship? Such a cute picture! Congrats on a great hunt!

Had the same experience trying to eat them but have heard a couple references to them being palatable now.

Looks like a great day out though, so maybe I'll have to give them another shot.
