Default Andrew lake lodge?

Hey Fella's

Has anyone used the charter service with Andrew lake lodge? I have heard great things so far but looking for a little more information and feedback on what to expect.

Looking outside the box for a 7 day moose hunt/fish trip in September.

Bringing my own camp and gear in of course.

Feel free to send me a PM with any information

Thanks !

Zack

Watched them closely for a awhile and in the last 7 years or so their moose size declined to 35” meat bulls as the average.

Thanks for the feedback!

I had a feeling that might be the case, not completely a deal breaker for me as I am more interested in the adventure (I can shoot a half decent bull every couple of years where I bang around)

If anyone has experience using there charter and getting up there for a self guided moose hunt info would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think there are any options for self-guided moose hunting in Sk is there? i think it has to be through outfitter?

I have done two self guided trips with Dan at Andrew Lake Lodge. Last trip we got a 42 inch bull but it had a massive body. It's definitely an adventure where he drops you off. The moose aren't as thick as you might think up there but it's pretty fun. Dan is also a top knotch guy and very customer focused. You learn quickly in that area that shooting a moose is one thing. Shooting it in a spot that doesn't take 2 days to hump it out is another. Stick close to lake shore and expect bugs unlike anything you can imagine. Bring a bug net.

As a non-resident of Saskatchewan you can not hunt moose or elk without an outfitter. There are some VERY good outfitters though. Randy Engen owns Lawrence Bay Outfitting and he has tremendous success with some huge bulls on Reindeer Lake. Great fishing as well as part of the deal.

We got dropped off on a lake but used a different company, spent a little over a week and didn't see a moose. We had a fantastic time. I guess it all depends on your outlook.

yes nothing is guaranteed hunted 8 days last year and if I was on a guided 7-Day hunt I wouldn't have seen a moose but I got mine on the 8th day. And I was hunting prime time in Prime Alberta Moose Country. Flyin hunts can be very relaxing and nice been on a few of them not always see moose, I would go for a 10-day package good luck.
