If you are gonna hunt an all weather, then go with the Elite 4200/W/rainguard....Leupy don't have that feature(unless you buy it eXtra...100.00...and screw em on!!

Leupold. After shooting Bushnells for most of my life, I have changed all of my rifles over to Leupolds. Good and clear, with dependable turrets. Plus thier warranty service is excellent, if it's ever needed. Good luck, Eric

Friend of mine just bought the Xbolt in the 300wsm. Loves it. He put the leupold VX-L 4.5-14x50mm with the half moon out the bottom. Worth the money!! Hope you like yours as much as he does

for 300-400 . you can get a 3200 , maybe some 4200's. from nikon you can get the buckmasters, not to sure what you can get for the monarchs at that price. probably a leupold vx2 for sure a rifleman. burris fullfield2. browning scopes, most. (there just bushnells though). bump up your budget by a 100 or so and your options will grow. check out ebay or opticsplanet.com you can get really good prices. way better than you'll ever find here.

Here's another vote for a Leupold VXII. A 3X9X40 is a nice all round scope.

I just an x-bolt in 243 and placed a elite 3200 on it...nice combo. Let us know how that 270 wsm shoots, that may be my next rifle!

Default scope

VX 2 gets my first vote, then maybe a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 with Ballistic Plex or the Bushnell Elite 3200

My recommendation would be to hold off until you can 'up' that amount by a fair bit. Because of the large number of threads on this forum about the importance of good optics (use the Search button), I won't get into the details on how important it is to match a rifle with a very good scope.

When putting together a new rig, there is a general 'rule-of-thumb' that many of us follow (including myself). It goes something like this; "Spend as much on the scope, as you did on the rifle".

Hey JWilliscroft. I just bought a Tikka T3 from Clay at ProphetRiver. Have nothing but great things to say about him. Try going to his website to search for a Leupy, I think he has some of the better prices on those. PM me if you can't find it on google.
