Varmint Bullets
Which of the 3 listed Varmint Bullets do you like best:
Barnes Varmint Grenade
Hornady V-max
Nosler Ballistic Tip Varmint
Note: This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of every varmint bullet out there, just wondering which of the above 3 people prefer. I'm going to work up a Varmint load for my .243 Win and have narrowed my starting bullet down to the above.
PS: I'm not super concerned about pelt damage, though if any of the above were pelt friendly (which I don't think they are) I would see that as a plus.

In my own rifle the Ballistic Tips shoot best, but I haven't tired the varmint grenades yet. They will all perform close to the same on game, pick the one that is most accurate in your own rifle.

They work for me equally well.

I use mostly Speer TNT's, but have used Vmax's in my .222 Remington - one hole in, nothing coming out.

Thoroughly impressed with the Vmax. Works so good, stopped there. I'm sure the BT of Sierra BK would work very well also. No experience with Varmint Grenade.

Where are Sierra BlitzKings, Speer TNT's, and plain jane Hornady SP's and HP's in the lighter weights.
BTW:
Strippers and dogs also use polls.

In 243 the Varmit Grenades work great in the one I load for. Highly frangible so don't come out the other side of a yote, will shoot quarter inch at 100 being pushed by a stout load of 4895. Have also used Speer 90 grain FMJs. One hole in and out, but doesn't have the shocking power of the Barnes, so have to sometimes follow them a ways.
No experience with V max or Nosler in 243. V max, and Varmit grenade in 224 have been very good on gophers but my current fav is the 40 grain Sierra Blitzking. Best of luck.

special dies and a strong press takes many steps to make them but worth it when you shoot your first yote or gopher with them and watch them turn into a big red mist. in my 6ppc they will shoot in the same hole all day long if you do your part as will most of the 22 cal centerfires I shoot them in.
