does any one out there have any ideas or thoughts on this caliber as well how long would you expect the barrel life to be with moderate reloads and cooling between shots?

Shooting to 500 yards with the odd coyote build yourself a 6mmbr. Way less recoil than the two other cartridges you list and you won't have to doo much fussing to find an accurate load.

I built one for my son a few years back.
Super accurate , and a nice non magnum, basicly the the same ballistics as the 6.5/06, but in a better case.

It has quite a few rounds through it and it will still shot under .5 MOA
Ron Smith gain twist barrel, fluted and mounted by Rangesports Unlimited.
The scope is a fixed 6X Leuoplod, and it will do it all day long at 500 yards.
