There is a good population of both Whitetail and Mule deer in both the Lacombe and Red Deer counties. Youre best bet is to grab both the county maps,do your scouting ,then start door knocking.
Thes areas have produced a fair number of good deer so I would say we have good denetics
Good luck

I've been hunting around red deer for the last 5 years on and off. I've taken a few decent bucks but have got some pic on the trail cam of some really nice mature whitetails. And you can see in the younger ones I have taken that they have the genetics passed down from the "big daddies".

zone 220 has always been good for decent whitetails;south of alix has some crown land which is decent for hunting.
