Default Cleaning a release aid

Hey guys. I was practicing today and noticed my release is starting to take a little more effort to make it fire. The sensitivity is adjusted correctly so I thought maybe it needs a cleaning. How does everybody clean their release? Was reading that oil is a bad idea as it attracts dirt and grime. What do you use? Compressed air, oil, solvent, specialty lube?
