Default Leupold VX Freedom 4x12x40 CDS

Does anyone have any experience with the new Leupold VX Freedom 4x12x40 CDS? I’m looking for first hand review’s and if it will hold up to hunting.

I just bought one for my 223 and tried it out today. I think the glass is pretty much on par with vx3 scopes and if there is. Difference I can’t tell. From what I have heard you will only notice in low light. Dials are a bit cheap feeling but seem to work as well as anything I have seen. I am not a serious gun enthusiast yet but would have no issues buying another. I think they are as great as any Leupold product

Leader model. Kind of ugly but they work. Have a couple on some CZ rimfires.

I find the adjustments a little vague, but otherwise a good scope for the price.

There is nothing wrong with that scope. P&D told me their Leupold rep told them the glass and coatings are a step up from what the VX2 was. That is a damn good scope for the price.

After comparing the 2 in person the VXF has a turret system that doesn’t lock and is more sloppy then the crisp locking VX3.
I will be looking for a VX3 with the CDS Dial System After Comparing The Two Side By Side
