harvesting big game after a previous animal shot.
Hey Guys
i wanted to ask all the fellow hunters out there what are the rules, if there are any on a certain situation .
if a hunter goes out hunting and shoots a deer with his bow and knows it was hit. but does not find the tracked/wounded animal, can the hunter still continue to harvest a second animal? or is that tag to be exempt. ?
i am asking because i have watched a few channels on tv where the hunters have done so.
Regards.

Legally the tag is still valid, ethically the decision is yours. I know what I would do.

Interesting first post...
As already stated the tag is valid till closed on an animal. That does not mean you can "lose" a few till you get rid of the ground shrink

Or alternately, how many can one lose in one year and not close their tag? One, two, three, four, more?
What's the time limit on finding? one hour, one day, one week?
For me it's always been simple. If i know for sure I put a bullet or an arrow into an animal, that tags done, whether I find it or not.
Others may see it differently.

Very interesting first post.
You should have put this in the fishing section, though.

Seems kinda fishy, doesn't it?

Seems fishy or very inexperienced hunter. My thought are 1) You should Not consider being a bow hunter until you have a few years of rifle hunting experience under your belt and 2) you have developed good tracking skills!

Don't like this one. Closed for now. A couple of honest posts removed through no fault of those who posted. Thanks for understanding.
