Default Old School Farm Vet

Does anyone know of one in Calgary or one of the smaller towns nearby? I'm tired of some new age snowflake trying to guilt me into spending stupid amounts of money on ridiculous and useless things.

We use Cochrane Vetrinary.

I like the one vet there a lot. Was very pragmatic when we were dealing with some issues with our Lab.

If you want to go really old school ... This was the go-to book that stock farmers and even vets used in 1912. I imagine most small town drugstores that carry vet supplies would have lots of the items mentioned in the book. My dad used this book religiously and our animals were always healthy. A great section on horses, most farm animals, poultry and even dogs.

Didsbury vet. Very good and good prices, just had my 11yr old rotti’s knee done for less than half the price of our vet in the city.

Beddington Trail Animal Hospital is great. Glad I found this place. Not like the others that will try to guilt you into spending $100’s if not $1000’s.

Cost me less to get my dog neutered there than 1 set of shots cost elsewhere. Since then I have not paid more than $100 for a visit including medicine.

I have been using Cochrane Lake Small Animal Clinic for the last couple of years for my dogs. She is a third generation vet, and seems pretty common sense. Her clinic is beside her rural home north of Cochrane by Big Hill Springs Park. Both her and her husband are into hunting as well.
